I grew up in Tuskegee, Alabama and graduated from Alabama Christian High School. My wife, Donna, and I met at Oklahoma Christian College, in Oklahoma City, where we were married in 1971. Donna is from a small town on the northern edge of the Ozarks in central Missouri. I tried to preach for about 10 years, living in Illinois, Tennessee, and South Dakota. While in South Dakota I took classes at Black Hills State College to become a high school teacher and moved back to Alabama to teach. I retired from teaching in 2017, having taught mainly history, government, economics, and French for thirty-five years. I have lived in Prattville since 2002, and I have been honored to serve as an elder here since 2008.
Donna and I have two sons, one living in Arlington, Texas, the other in Oklahoma City. My sweet mother-in-law, Lucetria Hutchison, lives with us. My hobbies include gardening, bicycling, and cooking.
